The Lord Jesus has put in place principles concerning giving; it is a great part of worshipping God. Many believers in the body of Christ love to receive but are not willing to give and become a blessing to others. Why is giving so important? It was the late president John F. Kennedy during his time in office that made a profound statement, he said “think not what your country can do for you, but think what you can do for your country” end of quote. In a similar way we as believers should not be concern as to what the Lord and people can do for us as oppose to what we can do for the Lord and others.
