To understand the process of developing spiritual character we first need to distinguish the difference between spiritual gifts and spiritual fruit. In comparison to spiritual fruit no time or effort is required of individuals receiving the gifts of the Spirit. However there is time and effort required to cultivate the spiritual fruits in our lives which develops character. There are six stages Peter shares with the believers concerning character development and we too must grow in every stage.
